Special Girdawari

CM Ashok Gehlot has given directions to conduct special girdawari to assess Rabi crop loss due to untimely rainfall and hailstorm on 8 March 2022. As per the information provided by the agriculture department, so far 2,546 intimations have been received till now. Under the provisions of the scheme, intimation found eligible during the survey will be paid the insurance claim by the concerned insurance company.

Sundarkanti awards

A selection committee is soon going to decide names of the senior and junior Rajasthan women cricketers for the 3rd Sundarkanti Joshi Cricket Awards. The awards are held by Radha Niwas Cricket Club to promote women cricketers. 

Pink Division

On 8th March 2022, PHED minister Mahesh Joshi has announced to create ‘pink division’ in all regional offices of PHED to mark International Women’s Day. The department will make one division office each as a ‘pink division’ under its regional offices located at all the seven divisional headquarters. In such division all engineers such as superintending engineers, assistant engineers and junior engineers and other posts will be reserved for women.

Mandatory Installation of CCTV

In March 2022, Parliamentary affairs minister Shanti Dhariwal told the state assembly that the state government will introduce a law that will make it mandatory for private institutions and commercial establishments in the state to install CCTV cameras and connect the feed to the Abhay Command and Control Centre.

Bill to Regulate Higher Education Private Institutions

The state government will introduce the Rajasthan State Education Regulatory Authority (SERA) bill in the assembly to regulate educational institutes. The body will regulate the higher educational institutes including mushrooming of private universities, colleges and other centres.

MNREGA Helpline

MGNREGA workers can call on integrated toll free number: 1800-180-6127 – to demand for work under the scheme and also register complaints. On listening to the options on IVR, No. 5 has to be pressed. After this, information about the name of the district, panchayat samiti, gram panchayat and job card number have to be given to the call centre agent.

When the demand for employment is made by workers on the toll free number, the demand will be registered by the call centre agent on the NREGA software (NREGA soft) through the state login. This will directly be updated on the ID of the panchayat samiti concerned. After allotment of work from the panchayat samiti level, the name will automatically be registered in the muster-roll as per the demand.

Committee to examine deman for new Districts

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced the formation of a high-level committee to study the demand for new districts. This committee will submit its report within six months.

Labour Welfare Board for workers in the unorganised sector

In march 2022, Chief minister Ashok Gehlot announced the creation of a labour welfare board for workers in the unorganised sector. This board will be meant for the welfare of all labourers in the unorganised sector, except building and construction workers (BOCW).

Building & Other Construction Workers’ Welfare (BOCW) board is already in existence. BOCW board is meant for a specific section of workers. This board was created through a statute passed by Parliament. Its funds are being generated by the cess collected from builders. It is being used for the welfare of building and construction workers.

JDA to Install EV Charging Stations

After the Union power ministry released the revised guidelines for charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in January 2022, Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has decided to discontinue the process of inviting expression of interest (EOI) from private companies to install, operate and maintain charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) in Jaipur.

JDA had earlier identified nearly 75 locations, including Central Park, Jawahar Circle, Nursery Circle (Vaishali Nagar) and SMS Hospital parking for private companies to set up charging stations. JDA is now examining the ministry’s revised guidelines for charging infrastructure for electric vehicles to enable faster adoption by ensuring safe, reliable and affordable infrastructure.

When JDA invited EOI, not many companies showed interest. The EV stations will now be set up as per new guidelines. As per the revised guidelines, an individual or an entity is allowed to set up charging stations without license. However, they should meet technical, safety and performance standards.

100 Day drive in Rajasthan to Check use of Tobacco Products

A 100-day action plan with 38 points will be implemented in Rajasthan for discouraging use of tobacco products in the state. It will be a major campaign run by the health department along with NGOs to be implemented across the state from urban areas to rural areas.

Pension Benefit to State Government Employees

More than 3 lakh state government employees, who were appointed on or after January 1, 2004, will benefit from the revial of the old pension scheme announced in the state budget 2022. The pension scheme for government employees was discontinued in the country from April 1, 2004 and the new contributory National Pension Scheme (NPS) was implemented.

Nahargarh eco-sensitive zone

The forest department along with the Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur will start an exercise to prepare a zonal master plan of the economic sensitive zone (ESZ) of Nahargarh Wildlife Sanctuary.

The forest department had earlier declared 79.356 square kilometre area as ESZ of Nahargarh where several activities were prohibited. The Central government had notified an area to an extent varying from 0 to 13 km round the boundary of Nahargarh as ESZ.

The final notification to declare ESZ of Nahargarh was released on March 11, 2019. Now, within two years, the state government had to prepare ESZ zonal master plan in consultation with all departments including environment and forest, urban development, tourism, municipal, revenue, agriculture and others.
