Rajasthan high court order on sexual abuse at workplace

In January 2021, the single bench of Justice SP Sharma of Rajasthan high court ordered that obscene messages sent to an employee posted in another state even after office hours will come under the category of sexual harassment at workplace.

Kishanbagh in Jaipur to be inaugurated soon

Kishanbagh, Jaipur city’s first desert park project initiated in August 2016, is expected to be thrown open to the public soon as work by Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) and forest department has reached the final stages. The park falls in the Vidhyadhar Nagar region, which is nearly 15 km away from the main city. The area is all set to get a new landmark, officials believe that this will be an added feature in the city’s eco-tourism.

GPS tracking to monitor supply of food grains soon

The food and civil supplies department will create a Grains Accounting Receipt Deposit (GARD) system to strictly monitor the whole process of distribution of wheat to NFSA beneficiaries starting with lifting of foodgrains from food corporation godowns.

Pilot Project to reduce GIB mortality in Jaisalmer

Following Supreme Court and National Green Tribunal’s directions to either put electric wires underground or bird diverters in the Great Indian Bustard (GIB) habitat area, a pilot project is being planned to put bird diverters in Jaisalmer’s Khetolai and Dholia areas in Jaisalmer.

In a recent hearing, the Supreme Court of India, directed the power lines in the GIB landscape to be laid underground.

E-Kaksha Initiative by Rajasthan Government

Directorate of Education, Bikaner, along with Mission Gyan, a private organisation, started e-Kaksha initiative in which government teachers record videos and upload them online. At present, around 40 government teachers who were shortlisted in an interview process are creating videos at the office of Mission Gyan in Jaipur.

Now the school students in rural areas of the state are getting the benefit of recorded content uploaded on social media. Queries are answered in the comments section of YouTube. Very soon, the government is planning to have live classes from the studio as well.

Task Force Constituted for Mines Development

In January 2021, Chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday constituted a task force comprising officers of forest, mines and revenue departments for speedy disposal of issues related to mining sector. The task force will be headed by the chief secretary of RajasthanShri Niranjan Kumar Arya. The State the government will also come out with a mineral and mines policy to provide a favourable environment for investment in this sector.

University of Rajasthan celebrated 75th foundation day

University of Rajasthan celebrated its 75th foundation day on 8th January 2021. University of Rajasthan was the state’s first university and the last to be established before Independence.

Now online Permission for film shooting in Rajasthan

In January 2021, the Rajasthan tourism department introduced an online service for film shooting permits in the state. The permission for movie and other commercial video shoots is granted under Rajasthan Film Shooting (Amendment) Regulations 2016. Earlier, the department had released standard operating procedures (SOPs) for film shootings to facilitate the movie industry during unlock period.

To improve ease of doing business in the tourism sector, the department has also introduced online process for registration of travel agencies, excursion agencies, and safari operators.
